It’s All We Do

Most (not all) mortgage companies offer a lot of the same products AND mortgage companies, Realtors, and banks do not really set the rates!

So – that leaves us with a few questions:

  • Why should I do business with a local mortgage company? – We understand the allure of working with the big online companies. It comes across as easy and straight forward. We also get it – your bank already has your financial stuff and your other accounts. If those options work for you – great! We want the process to go smoothly for everyone. However, we don’t do savings accounts! We don’t handle your checking or money orders…all we do are mortgages! That’s all we train in – it’s all we focus on! It’s what we do! Now concerning those big online companies – again…if they work for you great. We have found having a local person – not a logo…not a faceless name…but a person who you can call, go see, and communicate with really helps the process. Plus – this isn’t 1854 – it’s not like some companies have all the technology that makes life convenient and the rest of us are using smoke signals, pigeons, and the pony express! We have all the convenience of online document downloads, digital signatures, and automated calendars with deadlines. We just have the advantage of being available!!
  • What separates companies? – It’s the basics right? It always is when it comes to keeping customers happy! The basics seem so well…basic! However in a chaotic world a lot of companies forget. Communication – trust – follow through – being proactive – asking the right questions – being transparent – working on behalf of the client! Again…seems pretty straight forward and all companies promise it. I have never seen an add campaign where it says “Come do business with us and be frustrated that we never call, never do what we say, and we will make the experience terrible!” Never! So a history of business is vital! Who have they worked with – how long have they been doing business – how do they respond to my initial contact?
  • What should I really be focused on when buying a home? – Find a good Realtor and get prequalified! It’s simple. A Realtor can help you navigate the process and make sure you stay on track. They know the industry and other Realtors who can help you! Getting prequalified saves you money, but more importantly time and heartache. Through the prequalification process you can clarify how much home you can afford, what areas you want to look in, and find out if there is anything you can do financially that may help you in the home buying process down the road. If your credit is pretty good, but with a little correction, direction and some time you may be able to get more of what you want. The process, with a committed knowledgeable loan officer, can set you up for greatness.
